If you are working through the Old Sacramento Scavenger Hunt on a Saturday or Sunday between June 19th and August 29th 2010, you are going to have a chance to step back in time and watch history come alive with the Old Sacramento Street Theater.

Meet Historical Figures
Meet Gold Rush celebrities in person!  Founders of California will grace the streets of Old Sacramento, along with literary luminaries such as Mark Twain and Bret Harte.  Shake hands with notorious stagecoach robber Black Bart or champion wrangler Deadwood Dick (who is about to become the star of a series of action-packed dime novels).

Create Historical Crafts and Works of Art
There is plenty to do at the corner of J and Front Street (use your scavenger hunt map to get there!)  You can try your hand at simple homemade pleasures of the past like making cornhusk dolls, button whizzers, and thaumatropes (early animation devices).  You can even write and draw with a freshly cut feather quill!

Catch a Show at the Eagle Theatre
Don’t miss the New Golden Melodeon Review, presented by Dr Cornelius Poindexter’s Miricle Elixir.  This show starts at 2:30 in the Eagle Theatre.  See Sam Brannan, Lotta Crabtree, Lydia Thompson, Lola Montez and the fiery Spider Dance.

Download your free Old Sacramento Scavenger Hunt and head to Old Sacramento this weekend!
