If you have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to do The Old Sacramento Scavenger Hunt, why not give it a try on Labor Day Weekend during Gold Rush Days.
On September 4-7, more than 200 tons of dirt will be dumped on the streets of Old Sacramento to create the perfect wild west setting for dancing, pony & wagon rides, street drama, gold panning, period artifacts, storytelling, craft making, and of course scavenger hunting.
As always, you can trade a completed Old Sacramento Scavenger Hunt for a free prize. However, during Gold Rush Days there is a special second opportunity for prize collecting by participating in The Gold Rush Economy.
The Gold Rush Economy teaches children the value of gold and money during the Gold Rush by allowing them to exchange the gold nuggets they find at the mining station for special certificates. The Trailmix.Net store in Old Sacramento is a participating merchant that will redeem these certificates for a free prize.
Admission to Gold Rush Days in Old Sacramento is free and event hours are as follows:
- Friday, September 4, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Saturday, September 5, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday, September 6, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Monday, September 7, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
